This "Geoportal" offers a data base of maps, traces and waypoints, specialised for mountaineers and hikers of the Andes.

Hint for printing:
- To print small maps at home, be conscience that the scale of the map might change.
- To print bigger maps at home there are two choices:
- Load the file in Excel and use the printing options to scale the image in 100%, 75% etc., on 2, 3 pages wide and 2, 3, 4 pages high... fit and stick totether... or
- Go to a fotocopy shop and let print the map on a plotter.

- download: gpx-files, some kmz-files,
- Look on fotos taken on the route (in some cases)

Data sources and contributions:
- Data base of openstreetmap.org (with contributions of many people, including us)
- SRTM relief (Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission), improved by
- CGIAR and converted from geotiff to hgt.
- Own development of render ruls with Maperitive
- Improvement of symbols for hiking and climbing (see more details).
